Soya Chunks Pulao Recipe

Soya Chunks pulao is an unique mix of exciting flavours which will make you fall in love with this recipe. This main dish is specially garnished with cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and chopped coriander leaves. The main ingredients in the dish is basmati rice which is a rich source of carbohydrates and is a part of staple diet for many. Adding to that, soyabean are rich source of proteins and fibre. INGREDIENTS OF SOYA CHUNKS PULAO

(i) 200 gm basmati rice

(ii) 1 cup Soya chunks

(iii) 2 tablespoon ghee

(iv) 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

(v) 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

(vi) 1 inch Ginger

(vii) 10 teaspoon red chilli powder

(viii) 5 Clove

(ix) 1 piece cinnamon

(x) 2 Green Cardamom

(xi) 1 teaspoon salt

(xii) 1 lemon

(xiii) 1 tablespoon coriander leaves

HOW TO MAKE SOYA CHUNKS PULAO

(1) Boil Soya Chunks And Soak Rice

To prepare this scrumptious dish, wash the rice and soak for half an hour in the water.In a pan bring water to boil with a pinch of salt. Once the water boils add in soya chunks. Turn the heat off and cover the pan with a plate. keep it covered for 20 minutes.

(2) Grind Spices And Cut Ginger

Next, grind the cinnamon, cloves, black pepper and cardamom. Peel the ginger, wash and cut into long slices.

(3) Saute Spices

Now, heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Put cumin seeds into it and let it splitter. Keep the flame low. Now add ground masala, chopped ginger, turmeric powder to it.

(4) Add Rice And Soya With The Spices

Take out the soya chunks from the water and put them into the roasted masala and mix well. Strain the water from the rice and mix them too into the masala. Mix well and roast for 2-3 minutes with a ladle.

(5) Pressure Cook The Pulao

Pour water (2 cups, twice the quantity of rice) into the rice along with salt and lemon. Mix well and close the lid of the cooker. Pressure the cooker for up to 1 whistle and then turn off the flame. Take out the half pressure from the cooker by the lifting the whistle with a spoon. Once the steam comes out open the lid of the cooker and let the pulao cool down a little.

(6) Serve Hot

Soya chunks pulao is ready. Serve the pulao hot and fresh.
